STEPHEN J. RIVARD, P.E.
STRUCTURAL ENGINEER
Since beginning his career as a structural engineer in the late 1990's, Steve has provided design services to a wide range of clients encompassing multiple structure types including commercial, educational, industrial, dental, health care and residential projects. Steve also has extensive experience with the design of sub-surface and soil structures, including soldier pile retaining walls, cofferdams, underpinning, tower crane foundations, rock bolts/anchors, and soil anchors. Additionally, while employed at Wisconsin Electric Power Company's Point Beach Nuclear Plant, he was assigned as an engineer for the Independent Spent Fuel Storage Installation Program where he was responsible for spent fuel cask modifications.
Throughout his career, Steve has served as Structural Engineer of Record on hundreds of projects in varying sizes and complexities. One notable project, completed while with a previous firm, received an Honor Award from the Consulting Engineers Council of Minnesota (current ACEC-Minnesota). This project involved the design and attachment of a tower crane foundation to the finished top floor of the May Clinic's Gonda Building in Rochester, Minnesota. Research at that time indicated how unique this feat was, as it had only been performed one other documented time in the United States.
